Life is good in CHX

This corner of northwest Michigan is noted for its natural beauty, bountiful four-season recreational opportunities, and bustling tourist industry.

Train Station

Nestled between Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix on picturesque Round Lake, our town has grown from an historic summer resort to a year-round community.

Today, quaint Victorian cottages and a charming, petunia-lined main street - complete with drawbridge - co-mingle with new homes, schools, and lively businesses to create one of the best places to live, work, and play.

As anyone who has been a hospital patient knows, visitors can be the best medicine.

WHEN TO VISIT

Some patients benefit from quiet time alone to rest and heal. Others are helped by the reassuring presence of a friend or loved one...

The nurse who is in charge of your patient's care can be an excellent judge of when and how often to visit.

Medical/Surgical Patients
You may visit at any time until 8:00 p.m.

Maternity Patients
Dads, siblings, and grandparents may visit new moms and babies any time. Other visitors are invited to visit between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Please be sure you're free of any symptoms of illness - and wash your hands before holding a new baby!

Intensive & Coronary Care Patients
Visits are limited to five minutes each hour so ICCU patients can get the rest they need.

Surgical & Seriously Ill Patients
Families may visit at any time with permission from the nursing supervisor. If you would like to spend the night, please speak to the nurse in charge. We'll do our best to make you comfortable near your patient's bedside.

HOW TO BE A GOOD VISITOR
(7 Simple Rules)

  1. Please be considerate of all our patients by keeping your visit short - 15 to 30 minutes.

  2. Limit the number of visitors in the room to two at a time.

  3. Control the volume on radios, TVs, and voices.

  4. Please do not sit or place coats, purses, or other articles on the patient's bed.

  5. To avoid spreading germs, we ask that you not use the patient's toilet facilities, or eat and drink from the patient's tray.

  6. If you are sick or know you've been exposed to a communicable disease, please delay your visit until you're well again.

  7. Some patients are on restricted diets, so be sure to check with the nurse or physician before bringing any food or treats when you visit.
