Charlevoix Area Hospital - Charlevoix, East Jordan & Boyne City, Michigan
A newly renovated cardiac rehabilitation facility at Charlevoix Area Hospital will bear the name of Richard Krueger, the executive who successfully led the institution for 27 years.
Krueger, who served as CAH president from 1971 through 1998, was honored at a dedication and reception, Tuesday, September 25, 2007.
During his long tenure, Krueger oversaw several major additions, including a new surgical unit, coronary ICU, and the OB expansion. “It seemed we were always improving the facility and reinventing the place—but the result today is that we have a beautiful, up-to-date hospital.”
Krueger himself has used the cardiac rehab facility twice following surgery, and gives the newly designed department a great review. Located off the hospital’s renovated lobby, the rehab area is bright and cheery, with ample windows and space for lots of equipment.
