American Red Cross blood drives held three times per year in the large classroom of
Circle of Strength Cancer Support Group
Cancer support group in the hospital’s large classroom on the first Wednesday of each month from 10:30 am to 12pm.
Community Educational Events
Health presentations provided to community members at the Charlevoix Public Library. Topics in the past have included: Diabetes and Glycemic Index, Colorectal Cancer (with free screening and testing), Arthritis, Breast Cancer, and Cardiovascular Disease.
Healthy School Assessment Tool Facilitation
Schools are provided with a health assessment tool developed to assist them with wellness policy development.
Hospital and Career Exploration
Fun and interactive tours led by the Community Health Educator, open to students of any age.
Let's Get Moving
A regional fitness initiative designed to help people to be active on a regular basis (annually, from May to August).
Mammogram Vouchers
Vouchers for free mammograms provided to women who cannot afford them. No financial sliding scale assessment or explanation necessary. A physician’s order is still required. Click here for a printable version of this voucher
Newborn/Infant hospital bags and books
This a joint effort with the Charlevoix Public Library providing new parents with a canvas bag, books, and health information pamphlets at the time of hospital discharge. Also, books are provided to young children admitted to the hospital.

S.O.S. (Sight on Success)
Collaborative event with Charlevoix Zonta Club, providing education to Charlevoix County middle school girls in the areas of self esteem, goal setting, and confidence building.
Pink Ribbon Ride and the Tri-4-Fun Events
Collaboration with area resources to help plan these fund raising events. Both support the Cancer Resource Program at

Worksite Wellness
Health screenings provided to local worksites which include cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, body mass index, and health history screenings.
Wellness Wednesdays
Wellness Wednesdays are held on the first Wednesday of each month in the Solarium at the hospital. The health screen includes: Cholesterol by finger stick and blood sugar levels, Body Mass Index (BMI) score, body fat percentage, blood pressure, and a pulse reading. The cost for the service is $12.00. Participants will receive a “Know Your Numbers” health log, a pedometer, and all test results at the time of the screen. Heath Consultation and educational materials are tailored to individual results by a Registered Nurse. The entire visit takes less than 15 minutes.
